September’s update makes the distinction between long-term property exposure and current conditions explicit on city risk pages. A baseline score explains recurring exposure; a separately labeled live signal explains the near-term outlook and active local alerts.

When a city has elevated baseline exposure, an elevated live signal, or an active alert, its new Risk-to-Action packet turns that context into conservative, non-emergency home-preparation steps. Each packet links back to the official source families that inform its live layer, including NWS, NHC, WPC, SPC, and AirNow where applicable.

The packet is intentionally not a warning system, evacuation recommendation, property inspection, insurance quote, or medical guidance. It is a way to preserve useful local context before a homeowner switches to official alerts, emergency management direction, a licensed insurer, or a qualified service professional.

This release also tightens funnel language. Coverage and service requests retain the details submitted with public risk context, but do not imply a quote, appointment, partner match, or guaranteed provider response. That boundary keeps the site’s decision-support value clear while the operational delivery layer is built deliberately.

These official source families inform the live layers discussed in this brief. Individual city pages show the source links relevant to their hazard and current signal.
